Images And Words ~ Statues

Portuguese poet -  Fernando Pessoa

I sleep. at waking - if I dreamed,
I do not know what my dream had in it.
I sleep - if without dreaming,
 I wake up in front of a space;
open and unfamiliar, since what I woke to meet
is what I don't know yet.
best is to neither dream nor not dream
unawakened without end.

  5. Sophie, you did capture the statue of the Portuguese poet in such a beautiful way that I feel proud of it. In fact, it's not easy... it's located just in front of the café where he used to gather with his friends. Many people passing by... perfect choice of one of his poems, whose interpretation is not easy at all....

    1. Belita, I can not express enough how much I felt connected with this poet...

      I want to thank you again for finding his two poetry books in that charming used book store.
      The journey reaching him than reading his poem and finally have them with me in my hands...

      I had a Romance with Fernando Pessoa in Lisbon.
